Predicting long-range Calgary weather like flipping a coin

So, maybe it won’t be a deep freeze after all; two major weather forecasting agencies are changing their tune on the winter forecast for Calgary.
660 meteorologist David Spence says predictions made that far in advance are about as accurate as a coin toss.
In the beginning of December, Accuweather and Environment Canada predicted a brutally cold winter for southern Alberta, with Accuweather saying it would be the coldest in decades.
After one of the warmest Decembers in memory, both agencies are changing their mind. They now say the winter will not perhaps be as cold as earlier forecast.
The latest three-month outlook issued by Environment Canada shows near-average temperatures and above-average precipitation for January, February and March.
