Banff to consider parking fees

When you head out to Banff next winter, you may need to shell out some change to park.

The town is looking into bringing in paid parking in an attempt to ease parking woes in the mountain town brimming with tourists in peak times.

According to The Calgary Herald, it’s all part of the town’s 2012 strategic priority to look at a sustainable transportation system.

Mayor Karen Sorensen says revenue from parking could be used to fund cycling infrastructure, regional transit, and parking management initiatives.

The master plan for new traffic solutions should be done by next November.
