Marijuana with a street value of almost $800-thousand will not be hitting Calgary streets after a drug bust in the northeast community of Whitehorn.
Calgary Police’s Green Team, along with members of the RCMP, smashed their way into a home on Whiteram Close Wednesday around 9:00 p.m.; they came-out with more than 600 marijuana plants.
Police say one man was in the house at the time of the raid.
Nam Ngo, 62, is facing two drug-related charges and two criminal code charges.
The home has since been boarded-up.
“It’s really, really surprising to hear about something so close; really scary,” says John who lives just a few doors away.
A battering ram had to be used to gain access to the home as the front door had been reinforced, while police also broke-in through the glass patio doors at the back of the house.
