The city is asking Calgarians for their thoughts on adding carpool lanes to Crowchild Trail.
Planners are exploring the idea of running High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes from Glenmore Trail in the southwest up to 16th Avenue in the northwest.
According to The Calgary Herald the changes would be at least a decade away, as the city doesn’t have the money to widen the route to accommodate HOV lanes.
The 2011 civic census showed only four-per cent of Calgarians carpool to work, with 70 per cent driving solo.
