Al MacInnis inducted into “Forever a Flame” program

He played over 800 games as a Calgary Flame and Monday night Al MacInnis was honoured in Calgary.
A special banner was raised to the rafters at Scotiabank Saddledome inducting MacInnis into the “Forever a Flame” program.
He was well known in his day as a player with a booming slap shot, something he’s proud of.
“People ask me a lot of times about do you regret having a reputation of a shot and that’s all people tie your name too,” says MacInnis.
He says he doesn’t.
“Most players have a ticket or a calling card to get into the National Hockey League, and my slapshot was my opportunity to get into the NHL.”
MacInnis won the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP the year the Flames won the Stanley Cup in 1989.
The hard shooting defenceman played over 800 games in Calgary picking up 822 points.
