RRSP deadline today

It’s last call for procrastinators wanting to sock money into their RRSPs and still get a tax break for last year.
A CIBC recent poll suggests there may be quite a few of them.
It found about one quarter of respondents who planned to put money into an RRSP still hadn’t done so and half of them planned to wait until virtually the last moment.
Investment advisor Perry Berezan with Natonal Bank Financial says the biggest reason why people are not making RRSP contributions this year is because they are using their money to pay down debt, which he says is never a bad idea.
He recommends people use the RRSP deadline day to check on their credit score, to make sure there are no surprises on their personal financial record.
