Calgary police say a man broke into northwest home and assaulted an elderly woman inside.
The man went through the basement window of the house on Bowness road, just after 11 p.m. Thursday night.
The noise woke up an 86-year-old woman who went to see what was happening and that’s when the man assaulted her, went through her belongings, and ran out the back door.
It’s not known if he took anything.
The woman called 911 and was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as Caucasian, 5’6″ to 5’8″ tall, with a slim build and dark hair and was wearing a black jacket with red trim, and black jeans.
