Three separate fatal collisions late Sunday night

Three people died late Sunday night in separate collisions in the city.

One of the crashes happened at 17th Ave. and 100th St. S.E. around 10 p.m.

When crews arrived, they found two vehicles badly damaged following a head-on collision, with one of the vehicles on fire.

The driver of the flaming vehicle was pulled out by an off-duty RCMP officer and taken to hospital in critical condition, and two children from the second vehicle are both in critical condition.

One person was pronounced dead on scene.

In another collision, police say a pedestrian was killed at 16th Ave. and Valleyridge Blvd. N.W. just before 10 p.m.

Then, on Hubalta Rd. in the southeast, a second pedestrian was killed.
