Genius on the rise here in Calgary

We have a genius in our midst here in Calgary.

At two years and nine months, Anthony Popa Urria is a tad of the young side.  But with a score of 154, the toddler has an IQ that puts him just shy of the estimated scores for the likes of Stephen Hawking and Albert Einstein.

That means the newest Mensa member ranks among the top two per cent of the population for IQ.

When most of his peers are playing with toys, crayons and colouring books, Anthony can list the planets in the solar system, speak three different languages and solve complex 70 piece puzzles, among other things.

According to the Calgary Herald, there are only eight Mensa members in Canada under the age of 10.  Most Mensa members have IQ’s over 135. Most adults have an IQ around 100.
