Smith and Redford focus on Calgary on final campaign day

The two frontrunners in the provincial election focused on Calgary on the final day of campaigning ahead of Monday’s vote.
Alberta Wildrose leader Danielle Smith told cheering supporters Sunday afternoon the province will only have to endure one more day of Progressive Conservative rule.
Smith told about 400 supporters that Premier Alison Redford doesn’t deserve another four years or even another day, saying her government hasn’t managed to get things right in the past 41 years.
Any facade of civility went out the window as Smith accused Redford of mounting a non-stop smear campaign against her party.
She also accused the Conservatives of taking all of their campaign direction from Eastern Liberals.
Meanwhile, PC leader Alison Redford ended her election campaign urging voters to think about how a Wildrose government would look in the eyes of Canada and the world.
Redford took aim at Smith’s stance that the science behind whether human activity causes global warming has not been settled.
She questioned how someone who denies climate change can tout Alberta’s energy industry on the world stage.
Liberal leader Raj Sherman went door-knocking in Edmonton, and NDP leader Brian Mason was also there, holding a news conference to talk about fighting private health care.
Alberta Party leader Glenn Taylor was campaigned in Hinton.
