Health coverage shift for RCMP causing concerns

A shift in who provides healthcare for Mounties has some of the rank-and-file concerned.
Under the Conservative’s new Omni-bus bill, healthcare for RCMP officers is handed back to the mainstream Canadian healthcare system provided by provinces.
Currently, the RCMP provides its own health care to its members.
RCMP officials say the changes would save the organization about $25-million a year according to the Globe and Mail.
However, a group representing officers says members like the current system and deserve the best treatment as they put their lives on the line all across the country.
