As the U.S. Consul General for Alberta gets ready to wrap up her three-year stint, Laura Lochman declares Calgary her favourite city in which she’s worked.
This is one of about 23 cities in which she’s lived; a list that includes Dublin, Sao Paulo and Moscow.
Lochman tells The Calgary Herald Calgary has everything: a great standard of living, a welcoming community and no traffic (relative to other cities where she’s lived).
She says American interests are tangible here because much of the trade between the United States and Canada is focused on energy and agriculture.
She says her most memorable experience here was hosting events commemorating the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
