A group of Calgary blackjack dealers and pit bosses tried to out-sing and dance a troupe of Toronto bankers Tuesday night, but they tied on reality TV’s second season of Canada Sings.
The show pits amateur workplace glee clubs against each other as they battle for the charity of their choice.
Jodi Downey with the casino group tells 660News, tables games dealer Dani Manning came up with the idea to enter a team.
He says, “She’s always been a dancer and watched the show and loved it and suggested to me that we have a team and put in a video. She was really our inspiration and the one who brought it up. Some of us had never seen the show, watched the show and we thought what a great cause for charity, so 15 of us were on the final list and we sent in a tape and we were chosen!”
The group named Deal with It, plans on donating their winnings to Plan Canada, an anti-poverty charity.
Downey adds his place of employment, the Stampede Casino, will soon be renamed Cowboys Casino.
