Calgary man gets jail time for pointing laser at helicopter

The most serious penalty ever has been dished out to the man who pointed a laser at a police helicopter.

36-year-old Jason John McConnell has been handed a six-month conditional jail sentence and six months probation.

McConnell must take counselling and behavioural treatment for the August 16th, 2010 incident.

McConnell’s actions forced the Calgary International Airport to close down one runway for a period of time.
