The province has issued high stream flow advisories for the Bow river and its tributaries including the city of Calgary.
Sustainable Development does not expect any flooding, but people who live along the Bow, the Highwood or Sheep rivers need to be prepared.
No flood watches or warnings are in effect.
The city of Calgary is warning about some possible wet basements with the rising water levels.
The city says residents should install the cap in their basement sewer floor drain, and if you can’t find the cap, stuff some rags down in the hole just to keep the water from backing up.
They also suggest moving anything valuable higher up and periodically check your sump pump to make sure it’s working right.
Communities that could be in danger of seepage include:
Bowness, Parkdale Sunnyside, Chinatown , Eau Claire, City Hall, East Village, Hillhurst, Downtown, Inglewood, Bonnybrook, Riverdale, Elbow Park, Stanley Park, Parkhill, Rideau Park, Mission, and Roxboro.
