Springbank village development approved

The controversial village development near Springbank airport gets a green light from the county.

Rocky View County councillors have approved the first stage of the subdivision in a vote of 8-1, according to The Calgary Herald.

The Harmony development calls for a 10,000-person community with a mix of luxurious estates, a village core and condos.

Two dozen residents held an emergency meeting Monday night to protest the plan.

The development got initial approval in 2007.
