Another public art installation is coming to Calgary; this time, in the form of a 12-metre head in wire mesh at the foot of the Bow Building.
It’s one of two public art pieces coming from prominent Barcelona-based artist Jaume Plensa.
Another famous work of his is the Crown Fountain in Chicago, a large video installation showing faces.
Crews have started to put together Plensa’s Wonderland which should be done by fall.
A second installation called Alberta’s Dream will go up on the tower’s other side at Fifth Avenue South; it’s a bronze image of the artist hugging a tree.
