Canadians will learn Thursday which athlete will carry the country’s flag at the opening ceremonies of the London Olympics.

One possibility is Ian Millar, a veteran show jumper who is about to set a world record; the 65-year-old will compete in his 10th Olympic Games this year.

Triathlete Simon Whitfield is also being considered along with the only Canadian to win medals at both the Summer and Winter Olympics, speed skater and cyclist Clara Hughes.

Kayaker Adam van Koeverden carried the Canadian flag at the opening ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics four years ago.
