Think tank calling for immediate work on national energy strategy

A Calgary based think-tank believes work should begin immediately on a national energy strategy.
A plan brought up many times by Premier Alison Redford.
The Energy Policy Institute of Canada has released a report with 39 suggestions.
President Doug Black tells 660News the strategy must make our nation an attractive investment destination.
“We recommended to the ministers of energy last year in Kananaskis some specific steps that could be taken around regulatory reform to streamline project approval and to continue to ensure that Canada is an attractive place for investment, Black says.
The report recommends a committee of provincial and federal ministers, as well as First Nations leaders, begins work immediately on a strategy.
The report also talks about finding more markets for Canadian energy and to diversify beyond oil and gas.
The 150-page document also calls for a review of carbon management.
