Mushroom recall issued includes Alberta

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is out with a warning about mushrooms sold in our province.
The CFIA says Champ’s Mushrooms brand Sliced White Mushrooms may be contaminated Listeria monocytogenes.
The affected product is sold in 227g (8 oz) packages.
The package bears the UPC 0 33383 67600 5 and the “packed on” date written as, “PO 10AUG2012” or PO 11AUG2012.
The mushrooms were distributed in Alberta and British Columbia but may have been distributed in other provinces.
The company has voluntarily recalled the product.
There have been no reported cases of illness linked to the mushrooms.
Listeriosis can cause high fever, severe headaches and nausea.
Pregnant women along with the elderly or those with weakened immune systems are most at risk.
