A man who stabbed and killed a Banff cab driver two decades ago has been granted full parole.
Ryan Jason Love has strict conditions to avoid drugs and alcohol; something he’s already received a warning for after attending a strip club with a friend.
Love was 18 in 1990 when he stabbed 23-year-old Lucie Turmel for the $130 dollars she had made that night.
He was charged with second degree murder; police say the attack was fuelled by drugs and alcohol.
The Calgary Herald reports as part of his parole, Love must attend mandatory psychological counselling and is forbidden from contacting Turmel’s family.
