Road project wrapping up on 52nd St. S.E.

A road project spanning four years is almost complete in the city’s southeast.

The road-widening project on 52nd Street began in April of 2008 and has kept a large stretch of the road closed for the past year.

City Manager of road projects Duane Delaney says they hope to have the road re-opened by the end of September.

Workers will be wrapping up bridge work paving, and re-surfacing in the next couple of weeks.

Alderman Shane Keating tells The Calgary Sun southeast residents will no doubt be relieved to have that artery, one of three main access routes to his ward, open again.
