Soccer dome replacement in sight

The replacement for a faulty soccer dome in the city’s southeast should be ready by spring.

A steel field house will replace the deflated bubble at the Subway Soccer Centre after the dome collapsed two years ago.

The facility was used by thousands of players before it collapsed, some who’ve now had to travel to Airdrie or Cochrane to play the sport.

General manager Perry Logan tells The Calgary Herald the new dome should take six or seven months to build.

Earlier this year, city council approved $2.93-million towards the new soccer centre.
