It’s National Tree Day!
Give your trees a little extra love, or better yet – plant one!
The president of Tree Canada tells 660News, Wednesday, September 26th, is set aside to appreciate what trees do for us and how important they are to the planet.
Michael Rosen says we’re often too complacent about it.
“Over 81 per cent of Canadians now live in cities and towns so we’re really not a rural people any more. We’re very much an urban people and the forests and the trees that exist in those urban areas really make our lives that much better,” says Rosen.
A couple of events happening in Calgary Wednesday include tree plantings at Queen Elizabeth and St. Catherine’s schools.
