The province is helping to ease the financial burden of Calgarians who suffered uninsurable losses during a storm in June.
Tom Sampson with the city’s Emergency Management Agency says $9.4-million dollars is coming from the province because the storm on June 5th and 6th caused so much damage in many communities.
“The province has accepted the City of Calgary application for uninsurable losses as a result of this. This means both the City of Calgary and residents of Calgary have the opportunity to put in a claim,” said Sampson.
A claim centre has been set-up in the city’s Water Centre on Spiller Road.
It runs until 7:00 Friday evening and then again Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
If you are unable to attend, you can file a claim by calling 3-1-1.
