Community developer at impasse deciding fate of Shaw-Nee Slopes

The two sides deciding the fate of the Shaw-Nee Slopes Golf Course remain divided, despite a mediator.
Geo-Energy Enterprises plans to build more than 1,400 homes on the now-closed golf course in the southwest.
Grant Galpin, representing the Shawnee-Evergreen community, says the developer hasn’t made any significant changes to accommodate their concerns.
Many residents are concerned about the high density of the development, traffic congestion, and a lack of recreational space.
The Calgary Herald reports council has deferred the matter until February to give the two sides more time to negotiate.
