Student stabbed near SW school

A student of Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School has been rushed to hospital after a stabbing near the school just before noon Friday.

Calgary police say the student was stabbed in the stomach with a small knife around 11:45 a.m. in an area off school property where students go to smoke.

His injuries appear to be minor.

The school was locked down as a precaution while officers searched the area for a suspect.

Officers say they know who they are looking for but they don’t yet have anyone in custody.
