2013 gas and oil expo opens with an optimistic message

Rick George says he hopes people who heard him speak, close to 300 left the room as optimistic about the future as he is.
George says he’s confident the industry will tackle the challenges before it, including addressing the various environmental concerns.
He says oil and gas companies have not done a good job telling their story.
George is also urging people from coast to coast to think big picture when discussing things like energy pipelines and exports.
He says the entire country does benefit from energy activity, whether it’s in Northern Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia or Newfoundland / Labrador.
