Highways update

Highway 1 through Canmore is not expected to reopen anytime soon.
However, officials have set up a detour from Canmore to Calgary.
To access the detour, follow the signs over the Bow river to the Three Sisters Parkway, which will connect you with eastbound Highway 1.
The speed limit is 60km/h and no passing is permitted.
Fred Desjarlais with Volker Stevin says there’s is a lot of damage, especially when it comes to the bridges near Cougar Creek.
“There’s only so much that can be done as long as the water levels remain, but as soon as they subside there will be work put in place right away,” said Desjarlais.
He says they’re making some headway on repairs to Highway 1Athat will feed Canmore, but traffic will still be limited.
Highway 93 south into BC is open and Highway 93 north is open to small vehicles in both directions at Lake Louise.
Westbound Highway 1 remains closed at Highway 40.
