VANCOUVER – Glee actor Cory Monteith died from an overdose of heroin and alcohol combined, British Columbia’s coroner says.
Monteith, 31, was discovered dead in his room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel shortly after noon on Saturday. Police said he was alone when he died and had apparently been dead for several hours before his body was discovered.
There is no evidence to suggest Monteith’s death was anything other than a tragic accident, the coroners’ service says.
An investigation continues.
The service says Monteith’s family has been made aware of the circumstances surrounding his death.
