Cowtown’s city manager retiring

For almost a decade the City of Calgary has had the same top bureaucrat, but that’s about to change.

City manager Owen Tobert plans to retire in six months.

The announcement came in an internal memo Thursday, according to The Calgary Sun.

Tobert has held the post since 2004 after being appointed by council.

He joined the city’s administrative team in 1982.
