Ride to Cancer Conquer underway

Over 1,500 cyclists are hitting the road for the Ride to Conquer Cancer kicking off at the Grey Eagle Casino Saturday morning.
Myka Osinchuk with the Alberta Cancer Foundation tells 660News, a flood could stop them but any bad weather won’t.
“We ride rain or shine. Our riders are all asked to be well-prepared. And they are very well supported with pit-stops and crew stations along the route, so even if we get a little bit of rain, they will be well supported along the route,” explains Osinchuk.
An update from the event has the total number of riders at 1,655 with $7.5 million raised.
The riders cycle to Okotoks and spend the night there before biking back to the casino Sunday.
All the funds raised go to cancer research in Alberta.
According to the Cancer Foundation, an estimated two out of five Canadians are expected to develop cancer in their lifetime.
