The Calgary Board of Education has been recognized for a cutting-edge digital teaching tool.
Step two designs gave the public school board gold in the 2013 Intranet Innovation awards for its design of “Iris”.
The “Iris” project boosts interactive learning for teachers and students by drawing on students familiarity with websites like Facebook.
The Calgary Herald reports 50 schools in the CBE from Kindergarten to Grade 12 are currently using the tool.
“Iris” also took the top spot earlier this year at the 2013 Sharepoint Gala in Toronto.
