CBE brushes off class size concerns

The Calgary Board of Education says reports about large class sizes are exaggerated.

Chief Superintendent Naomi Johnson tells The Calgary Herald, they need to get out more “accurate information.”

New figures show enrolment for the current school year jumped 3.4 per cent from last year, but the CBE hasn’t released statistics on class sizes.

Parents and teachers have been expressing alarm, saying some classrooms have up to 50 students per teacher.
