Calgary Flames fire general manager Jay Feaster and assistant GM John Weisbrod

CALGARY – Jay Feaster is out as general manager of the Calgary Flames.

The NHL team has just 26 points this season, good for 13th place in the 14-team Western Conference.

The Flames did not make the playoffs in the two full seasons Feaster served as GM.

He took over in an acting role midway through the 2010-’11 season, and Calgary did not qualify that year either.

Assistant coach John Weisbrod was also let go.

President of hockey operations Brian Burke is set to address the media later today. There’s no word yet on who will replace Feaster or Weisbrod.
