Staying positive could help you stay young

A new study finds older adults who see the glass as half full stay healthier than their more negative peers, as they age.

The Globe and Mail reports, researchers at University College London followed 3,200 seniors for eight years.

They found those who reported a lower enjoyment of everyday life were 80 per cent more likely to develop two or more impairments interfering with daily activity, such as getting dressed.

The study’s lead author believes a positive mental state may reinforce biological processes that promote good health.
