Young man dies after rolling stolen vehicle

A stolen vehicle, alcohol, and speed all played their hand in a deadly collision between Red Deer and Edmonton which has killed a teen.

RCMP say the same 2003 Chrysler Sebring, which was reported stolen on Friday, veered off a snow covered gravel road in Ponoka and rolled several times.

The 19-year old driver, who was killed, and the 18-year old passenger, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, were both from nearby Maskwacis.

Charges of possession of stolen property over five-thousand dollars relating to the stolen vehicle are pending against the 18-year old.
