Deadly C-Train collision shuts down NE transit

Police confirm a man has died after being rushed to hospital with critical injuries in a collision with a C-Train in the Northeast.
Witnesses say around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday the man was hit while crossing against the lights at 36th Street Northeast and 12th Ave Northeast.
Police speculate the train service would be shut down for most of the night while the traffic unit investigates.
Transit users would have to use alternate shuttle busses to get around the scene.
The identity of the man is unknown.
