Speculation continues over missing Malaysian airliner

Investigators are still no closer to explaining how a large passenger jet, with more than 200 people on board, disappeared into thin air just days ago over Southeast Asia.
The search for Malaysia Airlines flight 370 has resulted in speculation ranging from the aircraft disintegrating in mid-air, to the pilot intentionally putting it into a nose dive, to acts of terrorism.
The disappearance of the jetliner, without warning, distress calls or any signal form the black box on board, is being described as an unprecedented aviation mystery by aviation analysts like Mary Schiavo, former inspector general of the US Department of Transportation speaking on CNN.
“The plane itself sends system status messages and literally the plane, with its very intense electronics, sends these back to its home base. That tells me that something very dramatic happened on that plane because this plane is a very advanced plane. Whatever happened was very catastrophic,” said Schiavo.
According to the Daily Mail, unconfirmed reports show the Malaysian jetliner was involved in a tarmac accident two years ago in Shanghai that severely damaged one of its wings.
