Food bank’s “extra helping” drive on now

The Calgary Food Bank is looking to stock up for the spring and summer and need your help.

Their ‘extra helping food drive’ is running now until April 24th; it started back in 2011 because the food bank was in need of a spring fundraiser to help in the summer.

The organization’s Shawna Ogston explains what they need the most at this time: “Of course, our most needed items are canned protein in the flip-top lids, like a can of tuna or salmon or even ham, but if we could have the easy opening flip-tops, that would greatly help go towards many of our hampers.”

You can donate a non-perishable food item to any Superstore or No Frills location in the city, or, if you’d rather donate cash, you can add $2 to your bill at the checkout.
