Wasps keep local exterminators buzzing

Pest control companies report they are fielding more wasp related calls.
The regional manager of Abell Pest Control tells 660News, right now 90 per cent of their inquiries are wasp related.
Len Patkau recommends people don’t try to remove a wasp nest simply by pulling out their garden hose.
Patkau said ” the best time of day to deal with wasps is after dusk when the insects have returned to their hive , after which a person should use a proper pesticide “.
He also predicts encounters between humans and wasps will increase as summer winds down, as the insects look for new food sources after mosquitoes and gnats disappear.
There are two other pest that a generating a lot of calls, ants and mice.
