Malls prepare for Black Friday

This could be the biggest year yet for Black Friday in Canada.
Here in Calgary, most shopping districts are hoping to capitalize and James Moller at CrossIron Mills said it’s definitely taking off.
“The retailers that have come from the United States and come into Canada have really brought the mentality and the pricing and the fever for Black Friday and the rest of the retailers Canadian based or otherwise, they don’t want to be out-shopped on that day,” he said, adding doors will open at 7 a.m.
In the downtown, the Core Shopping Centre is doing their big Christmas launch ‘Twas the Night’ Thursday evening to capitalize on Black Friday.
At Chinook Centre, the finishing touches are being put on the decorations with Santa arriving Friday morning in the Bay court, with an opening time of 7 a.m.
Market Mall will also be opening at 7 a.m., while Sunridge and Southcentre will open at 8 a.m.
