Just in time for the hot weather, a popular Calgary water park is back in action.
You can now head to South Glenmore Park to cool off with the kids again.
The city has just reopened the Variety Spray Park with a bunch of upgrades including a lazy river with moveable fish.
Greg Shymanski with the City of Calgary says the $1.25 million upgrade also gave the pump system a redesign so it can save water.
“What that means is that it’s got on-site treatment capability,” Shymanski said. “Instead of restoring the water quality by dumping the water and putting fresh water in, it recycles on site and keeps the water in very good condition throughout the summer.
“They essentially took out all of the old equipment. They resurfaced the concrete and the rubber surfaces in there. They put brand new equipment in there, in terms of the play equipment.”
The park is open each day from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
