CPS launching #ASKANADDICT on Twitter

It’s deadly, but still growing in popularity. The Calgary Police Service says people just aren’t getting the message about how dangerous the drug fentanyl really is.
Spokesperson Kevin Brockwell says the public can learn more with its #askanaddict Twitter campaign launching soon. People can submit their questions to someone who knows the consequences of the drug.
“A user, addicted, just about lost everything including their life,” says Brockwell about the person who will answer the public’s questions. “And now they’re reaching out in hopes of preventing other people from doing that. So probably in some respects, more of an expert than others in that they have lived it.”
The latest numbers from Alberta Health Services say more than 145 people were killed this year after using fentanyl. Forty-five of those people were from Calgary. CPS seized the drug more than 30 times this year.
