Man shot in nightclub

One man is in custody, another in serious condition in hospital after an early morning shooting at a downtown area bar.

Emergency crews were called to the nightclub just after 1:30 Sunday morning.

Police say the shooting happened inside the bar just before closing.

“CPS responded to a shots fired incident at a bar in the 1100 block of 10th Avenue southwest. One victim had been shot inside the bar,” explained Acting Sergeant David Fakas.

“EMS attended and transported the victim in stable condition.”

Fakas told 660 NEWS they don’t believe it was a random shooting.

He said officers were able to find several witnesses to the shooting and investigators are trying to determine how it all unfolded.

There’s no word yet on what might have sparked the violence.

It’s also not known how many times the victim was shot but investigators say only one person was injured and he is expected to survive.

The supected gunman is known to police and charges are pending.
