A decision on how long Flames defenseman Dennis Wideman is suspended for hitting a linesman is expected Tuesday.
He is scheduled to meet with NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman to discuss an incident that happened in the final game before the all-star break. Last Wednesday, Wideman collided with linesman Don Henderson, while skating back to the bench after he was hit along the boards.
Sportsnet Hockey Insider Elliotte Friedman said fans should expect to not see Wideman for at least a few weeks.
“The last one we saw was Daniel Carcillo and it was started at ten (games) and ended up at six, I could kind of see this going the same route,” Friedman told Sportsnet 960 The Fan.
The hearing is scheduled for 2:30 pm.m ET, in Toronto.
