Fatal crash shuts down Memorial Drive

A deadly crash shut down Memorial Drive in Calgary’s north west for close to six hours Saturday morning.

Alberta Health Services tells 660 NEWS a woman was killed when a small car, eastbound in the 500 block of Memorial, went out of control, struck the centre median and rolled, striking a tree.

Another woman was rushed to hospital in serious, life threatening condition while a man, believed to be the driver, was reported as stable, and not as badly hurt.

AHS says all the victims involved are in their 30’s.

The crash happened just before 3 a.m.

There’s no word yet whether speed or alcohol were factors.
