Bone and joint research centre opens at U of C

A new $13.2 million research facility, dedicated to bone and joint health, has officially opened at the University of Calgary.
Professor Steven Boyd says the facility is the only one of its kind in Canada.
“It brings together motion-capture imaging and bio markers under one roof and is a hub for people who are interested and need to understand more about bone and joint diseases. These are basic researchers, clinicians, bio-medical engineers, all the way through to the patients that are part of our studies.”
Findings from research projects will help patients around the world and right here in Alberta.
The building was funded through federal and provincial funding, as well as private donors.
