The Calgary Distress Centre is hoping interest in their annual ‘Lend An Ear’ breakfast fundraiser will pick up leading up to the event next week.
Organizers say ticket sales for the event are a little behind where they normally are.
Resource Development Manager Roxanne Cote said this fundraiser is very important in funding their 24-hour crisis services.
“In particular this last past year and a half and what we’ve been seeing this year, our services have increased about 12 per cent,” Cote explained. “People are needing support and as a community, we need to be able to let people know of what services are available to help them through these very trying times.”
The event will take place at the Metropolitan Centre at 7 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22.
