Snowfall warning ends in southern Alberta; Calgary parking ban in effect

The worst of our latest blast of winter is over.

The snowfall warning that was issued for much of southern Alberta, including Calgary, has ended.

Now comes the fun part, digging out, which will impact many Calgary drivers, especially those who live along snow route parking areas.

The parking ban along snow routes begins at 6 p.m. Monday and will be in effect for 72 hours or until it is lifted by city officials. Offenders could be ticketed and towed.

Environment Canada reports most areas under the snowfall warming received anywhere from 20 to 35 centimetres.
